Manchester

We opened our Manchester studio in Altrincham in 1982, starting at Station House before expanding to Edmund House and later Westgate House. After 40 successful years, we moved in 2024 to modern studios with great amenities in Northspring, Manchester, providing our team and clients with an inspiring, easily accessible city centre base closer to our projects.

Our 16-strong team brings together specialists in landscape design, masterplanning, landscape planning, architecture, graphic design and office management, working collaboratively across a wide range of sectors and scales.

Located within Northspring, a contemporary co-working environment shared with other creative firms, our studio benefits from high-quality communal spaces, including shared kitchens and meeting rooms that encourage collaboration and connection.

Our team are friendly and enjoy each other’s company with regular team lunches, cultural celebrations and evening socials. The basement amenities at Northspring support staff wellbeing, offering facilities for cyclists, a fully equipped fitness studio with showers and changing rooms, and a dedicated contemplation room that hosts weekly yoga sessions. A rooftop garden with views across the city provides a calm space to relax or catch up outdoors.

Just a five-minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly Station, the studio is well connected by public transport and local cycle routes, with secure bike storage available on site.

Our work in Manchester and the North West reflects a deep appreciation for the region’s rich heritage and spirit of reinvention. From the careful restoration and public realm design at Rochdale Town Hall to new urban spaces at MediaCityUK and the Second City Crossing tram route, our projects help shape a city that continues to evolve.

Alongside shaping vibrant public spaces and restoring heritage landmarks, the team is playing a key role in delivering the landscapes and planning frameworks that support the region’s shift to low-carbon energy. From major grid connection projects to renewable energy landscapes, our work is helping to define a cleaner, more connected future for northern communities.
