Scarlett Towse joins Landscape Institute’s (LI) Policy & Public Affairs Standing Committee

We’re pleased to announce that Scarlett Towse, Principal Landscape Architect in our Manchester studio, has been appointed to the Landscape Institute’s (LI) Policy and Public Affairs Standing Committee.

The Policy and Public Affairs Committee has been reinvigorated to strengthen the Landscape Institute’s influence on national policy, advising on planning reform and environmental legislation. The committee will shape the LI’s formal responses to government consultations and provide expert guidance to ensure the environment and placemaking are central to future policy and decision-making. This committee has been part of the Landscape Institute recent reshaping and sits alongside other committees which will help to promote, strengthen and set standards for the profession.

Scarlett will bring a fresh and informed perspective, driven by her passion for harnessing nature as a catalyst for meaningful, lasting change. She is excited to represent the profession, with a clear commitment to shaping policies that champion inclusive, people led and climate responsive design across the UK. We look forward to seeing the positive impact her contribution will make to the sector and our cities and neighbourhoods.

We are thrilled to support Scarlett in this meaningful volunteering role for the profession. Scarlett is undertaking this role in her own time, alongside her continued work with the Humanitarian Landscape Collective, where she remains committed to advancing resilient design in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities.
