Paul's bio

Paul Winton is a senior landscape architect with over 20 years of experience delivering high-quality public realm and landscape design across Ireland, the UK and Europe, including extensive work in London and Dublin. He holds a Master’s in Landscape Architecture and has developed a strong reputation for leading complex, multi-disciplinary projects that prioritise human-scaled developments and sustainable urban environments.

Since joining Gillespies' London studio in 2012, Paul has specialised in the design and delivery of large and medium-scale residential, commercial, education, infrastructure, and mixed-use schemes. He has a proven expertise in public realm strategies, as well as townscape and landscape visual impact assessments that respond sensitively to both urban and rural contexts.

In Dublin, Paul has been instrumental in shaping some of the city’s most prominent regeneration projects. His work includes Clancy Quay, Capital Dock and Coopers Cross in the North Docklands, where he led the landscape and public realm design from concept through to technical delivery.

In the UK, he is currently leading the landscape design for several key elements of the Thames Tideway Tunnel, delivering strategic public spaces along London’s riverfront that enhance flood resilience, biodiversity and pedestrian connectivity. At Television Centre in White City, he played a pivotal role in transforming the former BBC campus into a dynamic mixed-use neighbourhood, integrating layered public realm, gardens and accessible open space. He also delivered the civic square at the London School of Economics’ Centre Building, creating a high-quality environment that supports academic and community interaction in the heart of the city.

Internationally, Paul is overseeing the landscape-led regeneration of the Riga Waterfront in Latvia

Alongside his project work, Paul manages health and safety compliance for Gillespies’ London studio, conducting annual audits and ensuring teams meet the highest standards of design risk management and professional practice.
