Double Gold for Gillespies at New Homes and Gardens Awards 2012!

Gillespies' landscape design for NEO Bankside - the luxury residential development designed by RSHP next to London's Tate Modern - has just won two Gold Awards at this year's national New Homes and Gardens Awards 2012.

The distinctive landscape design won the top prizes in both the "Best Communal Garden / Landscape", and "Best Landscaped Urban Development" categories.

From the outset of the project, NEO Bankside's developers and design team sought to place the apartment pavilions within a richly-landscaped environment, blending private garden spaces with tree-lined linear groves, which form the boundary to a new public realm.

Stephen Richards, Partner at Gillespies who led the landscape design team comments:

"The success of NEO Bankside's landscape design demonstrates the benefits of bringing in our design team from the early stages of a project.

This early-involvement enabled us to maximise the potential of the spaces around the footprint of the apartment pavilions.

We created a series of richly-detailed garden spaces, including groves of trees inspired by native woodlands.  The landscapes balance beautifully with the contemporary lines of the buildings. "
