Bradford City Park shortlisted for Architecture Today Awards 2025
We’re proud to announce that Bradford City Park has been shortlisted in the Infrastructure and Public Realm category at the 2025 Architecture Today Awards, which celebrates places that stand the test of time.
Delivered in close partnership with Bradford Council, the project has played a transformational role in reshaping the heart of the city. Since its official opening in 2012, Bradford City Park has become a vibrant and much-loved civic space, acting as a catalyst for regeneration. Its success has been instrumental in securing Bradford’s status as UK City of Culture 2025, reinforcing the value of thoughtful and inclusive public realm design.
More than a decade on, the space continues to evolve and thrive. It remains a cultural hub, hosting large-scale public events, performances and celebrations that bring together communities from across the region. Its iconic mirror pool, interactive fountains, and flexible event spaces have become synonymous with the city's identity.
We’ll be presenting the project to the Architecture Today Awards jury on 17 September at The Society Building, London, with winners announced on 13 November at Space House.
A huge congratulations to our project partners who helped make this public space possible: Bradford Council, Arup, Sturgeon North Architects, The Fountain Workshop, Wolfgang Buttress, AtollArt, EC Harris, Birse Civils and Ashlea Landscaping. Also not forgetting the late Will Alsop and his visionary masterplan for Bradford.
Congratulations to our team in Leeds: Tom Walker, Adam Greatrix and Ollie Clarke. We also extend our thanks to former colleague and Leeds Beckett Landscape Architecture Course Director, John MacCleary, whose early design leadership helped shape the vision.
We’re honoured to see Bradford City Park recognised among the UK’s most impactful public spaces and look forward to celebrating the awards later this year.
