Karolina Skonieczna

Senior Associate

Karolina is a landscape architect with over 10 years’ professional experience. She began her career at leading architectural practice Glenn Howell, where she gained valuable expertise in delivering public realm strategies and town centre regenerations, before joining Gillespies’ Oxford studio in 2010.

During her time at Gillespies, Karolina has been instrumental in the design and delivery of a number of high-profile private and public sector educational, commercial, hospitality and residential projects. She has developed a particular expertise in onsite delivery and is very skilled at liaising with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams, in addition to public authorities and stakeholders. Notable projects include the delivery of a rural landscape setting for a state-of-the-art headquarters for leading technology company Dyson in Malmesbury and Southwater One, a flagship mixed-use leisure development that has transformed Telford town centre into a vibrant destination.

Karolina holds a master’s degree in landscape architecture from the University of Life Sciences in Warsaw Poland, and prior to graduation was awarded a student exchange programme at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, Austria.

Karolina's approach to planning and landscape design is based upon an understanding and a recognition of the complexity of marrying project brief, context, program and budget. She has consistently demonstrated her ability to successfully deliver projects that address these challenges. She believes good design is about minimalism and timelessness.
