Yorkshire school talk gives an insight into Landscape Architecture

Simon Hall, a Principal Landscape Architect with Gillespies' Leeds office, was recently invited into Millthorpe School in York to give a talk on Landscape Architecture to students. The presentation focused on the importance of graphics and communication in the profession.

The Year 10 pupils had just started their GCSE in Graphic Products, and their teacher highlighted the importance of bringing in a variety of guest speakers to help engage and inspire.

Simon Hall of Gillespies said "It was a great experience to spend time with the pupils, talking about our profession and explaining how we use graphics from concept through to construction in each project.

I was impressed with the enthusiasm from the class. This is now going to follow through to a landscape design project for the pupils, which I've been invited to judge. I came into Landscape Architecture after my A Level Art teacher suggested the idea, so it’s great to have an opportunity inspire others and to come full circle".
