Andy's bio
Andy Rose is a Chartered Landscape Architect with over 15 years of professional experience in delivering complex, large-scale landscape design projects across the UK, including notable schemes in Oxford, Bristol and surrounding regions.
A graduate of the University of Gloucestershire, Andy joined Gillespies' Oxford studio in 2014 and has since developed specialist expertise in the coordination and project management of high-profile public realm, commercial, and education sector developments, from early concept design through to construction and completion.
Andy has gained significant experience integrating contemporary landscape design within historic university estates, with particular expertise gained through his work on the Oxford Humanities Building and the Global Health Building for the University of Oxford. These projects required a sensitive approach to context and heritage, balancing the demands of a modern academic campus with the character and constraints of a prestigious, listed environment. His work enhances both the setting and user experience, creating legible, welcoming, and ecologically rich campus settings.
Andy has also played a key role in shaping landscapes for major residential and commercial schemes in Bristol, including Soapworks, Castle Court and the Welcome Building.
His strengths lie in planting design, technical detailing, and creative public realm strategies, combined with effective leadership of multi-disciplinary teams.
