One Exchange Square takes major step forward with resolution to grant planning permission

One Exchange Square has received resolution to grant planning from the City of London.

The proposals by Fletcher Priest Architects for LaSalle Investment Management and M3 Consulting on behalf of Malaysian investor PNB will extensively reconfigure and reimagine the existing 1980s post-modern office building into a new contemporary workspace, designed to accommodate new ways of working, improve well-being and meet net-zero environmental targets.

Central to the proposals is the extension and dramatic reimagination of the existing façades, establishing a series of stacked landscaped terraces and winter gardens, designed by Gillespies, that offer occupiers access to natural light, fresh air and shared open space. The proposals also include designs for a new public realm on Bishopsgate, featuring generous seating steps and pocket parks, and the redevelopment of the existing Exchange Arcade, an attractive double-height retail space connecting Bishopsgate with the new Exchange Park.

The wider team includes Core Five, Sweco, Heyne Tillett Steel, DP9, Silver DCC, GIA Equation, QCIC, Travenor Consultancy, Miller Hare, RWDI, JLL, Dn&co, Eckersley O’Callaghan and Cushman and Wakefield.
