Hammersmith & Fulham Civic Campus wins the NLA People’s Choice Award

We are delighted to announce that Hammersmith & Fulham Civic Campus has won the coveted New London Architecture’s (NLA) People’s Choice Award.

With over 2,000 votes cast, the scheme beat off stiff competition from 141 projects across 13 sectors to pick up the top accolade.

The project was praised by voters for being a "project with the community at its heart", delivering a "contemporary civic space with high-quality architecture and a great public realm" that is "fully inclusive".

Hammersmith Town Hall & Civic Campus is the extension and full refurbishment of the Grade II-listed Town Hall, the creation of a new high-quality civic mixed-use development and the positive renewal of west King Street with improved connectivity to the riverside.

Designed by Roger Stirk Harbour + Partners for JV client Hammersmith & Fulham Council and A2 Dominion, the project will create a vibrant new piece of town centre with improved facilities for residents and workers, including new shops, restaurants and cafes, a new cinema, commercial spaces, and much-needed affordable housing.

At the centre of the development, we have created a new high-quality civic piazza, set within an attractive and improved public realm. Consisting of both hard and soft landscaping, the enhanced public realm will deliver new green streets, playable spaces and pockets of planting and seating for all the community to enjoy.

We are also delivering a series of residential gardens and a number of terraces that will crown the roof of the historic town hall.

The project is now on site, with completion expected in April 2023.

A huge congratulations to the entire team!!!
