4 Glass Wharf in Bristol gets green light

Bristol City Council has approved proposals for the 4 Glass Wharf development, a significant new multi-occupier commercial building and the final phase of the development programme for Bristol’s Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone.

Gillespies was commissioned by Candour to develop an enhanced streetscape environment to the surrounding public realm, transforming the amenity space in the area for the benefit of the occupiers and the wider neighbourhood. Particular focus was given to creating a distinctive and accessible entrance space alongside pedestrian and cycle friendly streets. Existing spaces will incorporate significant planting to soften the character of the area, promote biodiversity and increase the human scale of the area.

Designed alongside Darling Associates Architects, 4 Glass Wharf seeks to be an exemplar development in Bristol and the wider region; in close proximity to Temple Meads station and the Floating Harbour and with extensive provision to encourage cycle commuting the development promotes employee well-being and sustainable work practices.
