Michael De Wet
Michael De Wet joined Gillespies in 2015 after working for a series of high proﬁle practices within his home country of South Africa and across the UK, Asia, Far East and the Middle East.
Over the last 15 years, Mike has developed an expertise in the delivery of international resorts and landscape public realms and masterplans, with much of his career focus within the landscape hospitality industry. He has also worked on a wide variety of large mixed-use, retail, residential and recreational schemes across the four major regions of the world.
Michael has the ability to profoundly understand the ambitions of clients and effectively manage the requirements of multiple stakeholders. Most recently, he managed a large design team for the Saudi New City Masterplan and the design of a new Waterfront Cultural District in Abu Dhabi, which included a the delivery of a significant waterfront park that will connect several museums and cultural buildings including The Guggenheim and The Louvre Abu Dhabi. He is currently managing the designs of the Crescent Hotel Development in Baku.
