I had my sights set on Gillespies from half-way through university, as it’s a company whose design principles I very much admire. I’ve been part of the Gillespies family for a year now, and work with a close-knit team who are as passionate about the design profession as I am. There is never a dull day at Gillespies.

Gillespies has an impressive international reputation and diverse local experience which attracted me to the firm.  Since I joined in 2015, I’ve been involved in a number of high-profile projects in the Middle East and locally, in London.  Gillespies provide great opportunities to work in large, collaborative teams on unique projects, with plenty of opportunities to travel internationally. We’ve got a great mix of people working in the office from all areas of the globe, which makes Friday night drinks a good laugh!

Originally from France, I joined Gillespies’ Oxford studio for oversea work and life experience. I enjoy following my UK-based projects and being part of exciting competitions abroad! Thanks to the support of my mentors at Gillespies, I am proud of my progress and I am now working towards gaining my Chartership. I am part of a young, international team and I never miss our weekly nights out or weekend excursions!

Gillespies broad range of projects and focus on landscape architecture was an attractive asset to me as a graduate landscape architect. Since joining, I have been immersed in a wide range of projects, both large and small in scale and at a variety of stages from concept through to detailed design, providing me with the essential skills needed to progress within the profession. The office provides a welcoming and friendly environment whilst never failing to create a diverse and challenging range of projects for me to work on.

As a recent addition to the Gillespies' family and as an Urban Designer joining a design practice with an impressive landscape and public realm reputation, it has been an eye- opening experience. The multidisciplinary and collaborative nature of the office is one of the main draws for me. I love that there is so much diversity within the office; from the huge range of international staff members to the sizes, types and locations of projects.

Gillespies is a really supportive firm of designers from all walks of life, doing what they love the most. We work hard but we also know how to have fun!

Gillespies provides lots of exciting opportunities to work on a diverse range of prestigious  projects. This breadth of high profile projects and company reputation is essentially what drew me to Gillespies back in 2013. Since joining the company, I’ve been involved in a mix of schemes including large residential, education and regeneration projects, as well as several design bids and competitions. I’m currently overseeing the latest phase of public realm for Wellington Place – a Grade A commercial development project in the heart of Leeds City Centre. And although this particular project is on our doorstep, I also get the chance to work on schemes across the country.
