Ellie's bio
Ellie is a Junior Landscape Planner at Gillespies’ Manchester studio, specialising in landscape planning for major energy infrastructure projects. A graduate in Human Geography and Planning, she joined Gillespies in 2023 and brings a strong academic foundation in sustainability, urban planning and landscape analysis.
Since joining the practice, Ellie has gained hands-on experience across a wide range of landscape character assessments and Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIA), working closely with senior members of the Landscape Planning team. She has developed particular expertise in the high-voltage electricity sector, supporting the routeing, siting and assessment of new overhead lines, substations and related infrastructure.
Ellie provides technical support across GIS and site-based tasks, including mapping, data analysis, field photography and survey coordination. She is skilled in ArcGIS Pro, Adobe Creative Suite, Fulcrum and TrueView, and also contributes to high-quality photomontage production for environmental assessments.
Her project experience includes several nationally significant energy schemes, such as the Grimsby to Walpole 400kV Connection Project (DCO), the National Grid North Humber to High Marnham 400kV Connection Project (DCO) and the National Grid T Route Rebuild 132kV Connection Project.
