Ben's bio
Ben Blizzard is a Senior Landscape Architect with over 7 years of experience in designing and delivering landscape schemes. He is particularly interested in how people engage with spaces and how elements like furniture and signage enhance the legibility and interaction with the landscape.
Since joining Gillespies, Ben has worked on a wide range of projects in both the UK and internationally, at all stages of the design process. He is passionate about delivering cohesive designs, often using 3D modelling, visualisations, and conceptual sketches. Ben also has a strong focus on wayfinding and signage, ensuring these elements support and enrich the overall landscape experience.
His experience spans concept development, tendering, and construction packages, working on projects of varying scales, from master planning to detailed design. Notably, Ben has contributed to large-scale projects like the Red Sea Airport concept, developing signage that is both functional and sensitive to its environment. He also has a deep understanding of how signage, gateways, and interpretive elements can enhance place-making, helping people navigate and learn about a site, as seen in his work on projects in North Cambridge and Ireland.
