Ben's bio

Ben Blizzard is a Senior Landscape Architect based in Gillespies’ Oxford studio, with more than seven years of experience designing and delivering landscape schemes in the UK and internationally. He specialises in wayfinding design, signage and environmental graphics, ensuring that landscapes are not only visually striking but also intuitive and easy to navigate.

His work focuses on how people experience and engage with spaces, exploring how elements such as furniture, gateways, interpretive features and signage can improve legibility, accessibility and placemaking. Since joining Gillespies, Ben has been involved in projects across all stages of the design process, from concept development and master planning through to detailed design, tendering and construction. .

Ben has played a key role in projects such as the Red Sea Airport concept, where he developed wayfinding and signage strategies for the external and internal environment. He has also applied his expertise to schemes in North Cambridge and Clancy Quays in Ireland, creating signage and interpretive elements that enrich the user experience.

Ben studied Landscape Architecture at the University of Gloucestershire, where he gained both his Bachelor’s degree and Postgraduate Diploma. He first joined Gillespies as an intern before moving into a permanent role.
