Resolution to grant planning permission received for 55-59 Lombard Street

Wandsworth Council has issued a resolution to grant planning consent for 55-59 Lombard Street, a new mixed-use development in Battersea for client Big Yellow, pending the completion of a Section 106 agreement.

Located on the corner of Lombard Road and York Road in Battersea, 55-59 Lombard Street consists of two independent buildings that will provide approximately 170 residential homes, commercial and retail space, flexible offices, an artists’ studio and an upgraded Big Yellow self-storage facility. The two buildings will be linked by a generous public realm and podium landscape by Gillespies.

Our public realm proposals introduce a softer character to the streetscape through the introduction of tree and shrub planting that will complement the existing mature London Plane trees that occupy the main plaza spaces. Podium gardens provide private amenity space for residents and a large raised lawn offers informal leisure and doorstep play. A decked terrace situated in front of the podium will offer residents views out towards the river.
