Gillespies take on the 10k Great Manchester Charity Run

A massive congratulations to the team from Hale [ Katie Maude, Mark Hallett, Kim Chamberlain, Rob Hazeldine, Jim Fox, Heather Simeonov and Sarah Knowles], who completed the Great Manchester 10k Run on Sunday, raising a grand total of £900 for their chosen charities – Cancer Research UK, Macmillian Cancer Support and Alzheimers Society.

Not only did the team raise lots of cash for a good cause, but they also scooped third-place within their 37-strong ‘Medium Business’ category for the Business Challenge.    

Last year the Great Manchester Run became a symbol of solidarity after the atrocity at the Manchester arena attack just days before, and this year it provided an opportunity for the runners and spectators to join together and remember the 22 lives that were tragically lost.  

Around 30,000 runners took part in the 10K and half marathon on the day, making it the third largest running event in the UK.
