Gillespies retains its position on Scottish Power’s Energy Networks Environmental Planning Services Framework

Continuing a broad portfolio of environmental, landscape planning and assessment work with a range of utility providers, Gillespies has successfully retained its position on Scottish Power’s Energy Networks Environmental Planning Services Framework. The framework establishes an opportunity for all appointed consultants to provide environmental planning consultancy for SP Energy Network’s future developments.

Over the years, Gillespies has worked closely with electricity transmission and distribution operators to deliver an environmentally attuned approach to the routeing and assessment of new and existing electrical infrastructure. Gillespies’ team of environmental and landscape planners are experienced in landscape and visual impact provision, public / stakeholder consultation and coordinating Environmental Statements, Section 37 Planning Applications and Development Consent Orders (DCOs).

Sensitive routeing and siting of new infrastructure is critical for project success, and offering a landscape-led approach we have worked closely with SP Energy Networks and national stakeholders to develop innovative approaches to assessing the sensitivity and capacity of landscapes for new high voltage overhead line infrastructure and the assessment of residential visual amenity

We are delighted to be undertaking environmental assessments and coordinating consent applications on behalf of SP Energy Networks, including a DCO for a new 132kV overhead line in Shropshire that will be submitted later in the year.

We welcome the opportunity to work once more with SP Energy Networks.
