Neil Matthew

After completing his MA degree in Landscape Architecture at Edinburgh College of Art, Neil started his career at Netherlands-based landscape architectural practice OKRA Landschapsarchitecten, before joining Churchman Landscape Architects, and subsequently Gillespies in 2007.
With a passion for well-designed public spaces, Neil has developed a strong grounding in the design of public realm schemes, with a particular focus on major transport interchanges, town centre regenerations and landscape visions to transform towns and cities, working with multi-disciplinary teams and a wide range of stakeholders, to deliver complex, transformative schemes.
Neil led the high profile regeneration of Bracknell Town Centre and is project manager for Elephant Park, the regeneration of the Heygate Estate in Elephant and Castle into a mixed-use new sustainable community together with the creation of a new central London park.
Alongside his landscape design expertise, Neil’s creativity in producing strong graphics and a flair for visual communication has been essential to the successful development of these projects.
