Steve Wardell is the Managing Partner of Gillespies where he has provided design leadership skills that have helped establish Gillespies as an international and award-winning, design-focused firm. Steve has led many large scale masterplanning, regeneration and place-making projects, both in the private and public sector, acting as an advocate for the importance and value of investing in high quality public spaces.
His interests range from small-scale public realms to city development strategies, with a particular focus on strategic urban design and spatial masterplanning. His designs are centered on the awareness that high quality urban infrastructure is crucial for guaranteeing a functional and liveable environment – leading to Steve managing the delivery of a series of urban realm designs to compliment the new Crossrail stations in central London.
