Jim Diggle is a partner at Gillespies with over 30 years’ experience in the design and delivery of a large scale masterplanning and landscape design projects, both in the UK and Internationally. Leading Gillespies Russian and Middle Eastern portfolio, Jim’s projects cover an array of sectors including retail, leisure and sport, infrastructure and residential, as well as the delivery of office, science and education campuses.
His experience and interest in international landscapes led him to South East Asia where he set up Gillespies office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which he subsequently managed for 10 years, playing a pivotal role in the practice’s growth in this area of the world. Upon his return to the UK, he became the regional partner for the southern offices and assumed charge of the financial management and growth of the Oxford and London offices.
Jim’s designs are driven by a core principle that environments should consist of multi-layered qualities that enrich a visitor’s experience, creating destinations that are delightful, memorable and uplift the spirit – an approach that has led to Jim continuously delivering key visitor attractions and luxury resorts around the world. Notable projects include the world-famous Legoland in Windsor, the National Sports Complex, XVI Commonweath Games in Malaysia and The Louvre Park, a 1km long waterfront park that will connect and unite Abu Dhabi’s forthcoming world-class cultural destinations including the Louvre Abu Dhabi.
