View project intro

The Christie is one of Europe’s leading cancer centres, treating more than 40,000 patients a year. The Manchester Cancer Research Centre (MCRC) was created in 2006 as a partnership between The University of Manchester, Cancer Research UK and The Christie NHS Foundation Trust.

The new building facilitates the expansion of key research themes and provides space for 150 University Cancer Researchers. The design of the landscapes provides a modern interpretation of the existing historic layout and provides a contemporary 'green' that will provide an attractive setting for the new building and a focal point for local people. The ‘open’ landscape around the southern elevation of the building further enhances the landscape setting for residents and research centre users alike.
