View project intro

The project has created a new gateway to Wembley Stadium, balancing the accommodation of match-day crowds with the everyday intimacy of homes which enjoy a series of south-facing courtyards.

Gillespies focused on soft landscaping to contrast with the predominantly hard landscaping of the adjacent Station Square and Wembley Park Boulevard.

The landscape design created external spaces that contribute to the setting and uses of the buildings, and integrate the development with its surrounding context. We devised a number of distinct character areas, encompassing public and private gardens, improvements to the existing Station Square, and The Wilderness, a biodiversity habitat zone along one edge of the site, which complements the existing wildlife corridor parallel to the railway.

Additionally, a new area of public open space at the corner of Station Square, The Terrace, provides an arrival space featuring bold planting defined by the character of South Way.
