As part of the wider regeneration and development of the Medway region, a new bus station has been created in the town of Chatham together with a series of public spaces.
The new bus station forms the main hub for all the town's bus routes, opening up the town's waterfront and connecting it with Chatham's centre — Medway's largest shopping area.
Gillespies has designed new high quality, pedestrian‑friendly public spaces that complement the design of the new bus station and help to meet the strategic growth objectives of Medway. These new public spaces integrate the bus station with the rest of the town and play a vital role in linking it to key amenities such as the waterfront, the heritage park, and the retail centre.
