Holly's bio

Holly is a Graduate Urban Designer (and qualified Part II Architectural Assistant) with experience in the development of arts and culture, public realm and urban regeneration schemes.  Her design philosophy is to curate sensitive place-based proposals that embody positive social, environmental, and economic impact for communities at all scales worldwide. She believes that reimagining and reanimating public space reinforces a strong sense of identity and ownership that improves people’s quality of life.

Her background in architectural design and collaborations with non-profits (CAUKIN Studio, Mothers of Africa and KarmaNutra) during international workshops enables Holly to understand how to analyse and develop regeneration frameworks for more egalitarian design narratives. She aims to make the design process more inclusive for all stakeholders and participants.

Prior to joining Gillespies Holly worked in Cleethorpes for Hodson Architects, where she gained experience in community engagement and early RIBA work stages (conceptual design) through to technical design. Whilst working at Gillespies, Holly has worked on a number of projects ranging from large scale masterplans, town investment plans and strategic development frameworks to more local-led landscape design and public realm strategies. Holly continues to develop graphical and technical skills at Gillespies by expanding her knowledge of QGIS, Carbon Literacy Training, AutoCAD, Adobe (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and 3D modelling software. Working alongside a team of landscape architects, urban planners and urban designers has enabled her to broaden her understanding of a wider portfolio of projects and processes.
