Daniella's bio

Daniella is a Senior Landscape Architect with experience in the concept design and spatial coordination of public realm, commercial, and residential schemes across the UK, with a focus on town centre redevelopment.  She believes that creating a strong sense of place is key to realising vibrant and thriving public landscapes. Her design philosophy maintains that in finding a balance between culture and nature, we can create urban spaces that will stand the test of time and become memorable and unique. Her background in art enables her to translate design ideas and concepts in creative ways, creating a strong visual narrative for her projects. Daniella is a strong public speaker and enjoys presenting her work to fellow design team members, clients, and the public.

Prior to joining Gillespies, Daniella worked in London for Exterior Architecture, where she gained extensive experience working at RIBA stages one through four. Her key projects included: the concept and planning of Nicholsons Maidenhead Town Centre Redevelopment, the detailed design of Capital Court in Hounslow, and the concept and planning of a number of new developments within Hayes and Harlington, which include 9 Nestles Avenue, and Viveash Road.

Daniella graduated in 2015 with a Bachelors Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Guelph. Inspired by her hometown of Hamilton, Ontario, known as ‘steel-city’, she focused her Graduating Thesis on adaptive redevelopment of post-industrial sites. After graduating, she went on to work at FORREC, in Toronto, specialising in theme parks, resorts, and waterparks in Asia and the Middle East. After a year, she moved to OMC Landscape Architects in Hamilton to gain more local, technical experience.
