Armel Mourgue is a highly experienced landscape architect and public realm designer, and a Partner at Gillespies' London studio. Originally from France, Armel has over 20 years of experience delivering award-winning landscape architecture projects in the UK, Middle East, and China, with a portfolio that includes high-profile public realm regeneration, urban parks, residential masterplans, mixed-use developments, and commercial landscapes at a wide range of scales.

His design approach focuses on creating contemporary, climate resilient public spaces that are socially responsive and rooted in local culture and context. He draws inspiration from each site’s history, topography, and traditions, ensuring every project reflects a unique sense of place.
He is widely recognised for his expertise in elevated landscapes and internal gardens, having designed several of London’s most iconic roof gardens, including Crossrail Place Roof Garden in Canary Wharf, The Sky Garden at 20 Fenchurch Street, Landmark Pinnacle in Canary Wharf and the new 300-metre-long wellness roof garden for Google Headquarters in King's Cross.
Armel also led the masterplan and public realm design for Elephant Park, one of London’s most ambitious green regeneration projects, including the creation of a new 2-acre biodiverse park that forms the heart of this sustainable residential and mixed-use development.
Armel is a visiting lecturer at the University of Greenwich, where he shares his passion for landscape design and urban sustainability.
