UKREiiF success for Gillespies

Members of our Leeds studio took part in a very successful UKREiiF.

Leeds was buzzing with over 7000 delegates from government, local government, investors, funders, developers, builders and a number of leading architecture and landscape architecture firms.

The three days of UKREiiF, from 16 to 18 May, also offered a chance to display Leeds to visitors from all over the world - especially the iconic public realm and squares designed by Gillespies. The good weather allowed plenty of networking in the outdoor spaces between the venues as well as at events.

Many thanks to Tom Walker, Jim Gibson, Adam Greatrix, Alan Nowell, Rachel Taylor, Katie Hodgson, Lilianna Yu, Ryan Bailey and Sam Hutchison who worked extremely hard on networking. They attended main and fringe events run by ARUP, Leeds Council, Civic Engineers, Birkenhead Council, Kirklees Council, Rex Procter and Partners, RPP, Kier Construction, Bradford City Council, Lichfield’s, Willmott Dixon, Harworth Group, and Women in Property, as well as on Gillespies' own unofficial fringe event at restaurant Home.

Tom Walker said: "It was a great few days. Thanks to everybody who made time to chat, catch up, and pass on knowledge and insight."

Adam Greatrix described the programme of events as "inspiring. It was fantastic to have such a transformative gathering of so many people across the real estate and infrastructure sectors in our home city."

Alan Nowell commented on the broad range of discussion and information-sharing. "Superb organisation, excellent venue and it was great catching up with old contacts and making new links."
