The Macallan new distillery to include landscape design by Gillespies

Gillespies is working alongside architects Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners (RSHP) on the project by Edrington to build a new whiskey distillery and visitor centre for The Macallan Estate in Speyside.

The Macallan is recognised around the world as a marque of excellence and innovation - it is one of the world's best-loved premium whiskies. The new facility aims to embody these characteristics in a design that complements the natural beauty of the area and The Macallan Estate. Over time the distillery is expected to deliver additional capacity to meet the growing demand from existing and new international markets.

Edrington plans to invest over 100 million GBP in The Macallan estate in Speyside to sustain the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and innovation that have become the hallmarks of the brand.

The ethos of the landscape design by Gillespies is to work with the architects to meld the new facility seamlessly within its landscape, so that it becomes a part of the parkland of the estate.
