The International Quarter at Stratford
Gillespies has been appointed as landscape and public space designer for The International Quarter, Stratford City - an exciting new business district and part of the London 2012 Olympic legacy.
Gillespies is drawing on its expertise in developing city-scale masterplans to prepare guidelines for the sequence of open spaces within this dynamic commercial area. This will support the creation of a world-class setting for the new leading commercial centre, with an emphasis on sustainability.
Working alongside lead masterplan architect Arup Associates, Gillespies is set to deliver a series of design codes that will provide the framework for nurturing the growth of this vibrant area. The designs will help to deliver future and long-term inward investment into the district beyond the Olympic legacy, making it an attractive and visually-rich area in which to work and do business.
Features of the new designs will include a major new public square, a variety of street typologies and two significant new ecology parks.
