Television Centre reaches topping out

Television Centre reached a key milestone yesterday when two residential buildings reached their highest point in the first phase of the redevelopment. The design team celebrated with a topping out ceremony at Pergola on the Roof, a pop-up situated on top of the former, neighbouring multi-storey car park. The event was attended by clients Stanhope, Mitsui Fudosan and Aimco, along with Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM), Gillespies and the supporting project team.

The project involves the reinvention of the former headquarters of the BBC in west London into a new vibrant residential quarter.  The scheme, led by AHMM, combines contemporary living with iconic heritage, preserving the building's Grade II-listed Helios Plaza.

Gillespies have transformed the site through a high quality public realm and a series of landscape interventions that place social interaction at its heart.
