Scottish Government Framework appoints Gillespies as part of team

A team led by John Thompson & Partners (JTP) and including Gillespies has been awarded a place on the new Scottish Government Framework to deliver and mainstream charrette processes throughout the country.

A charrette is an intense design workshop that takes place over a number of days, in which stakeholders within a community work directly with a design team to generate community plans that relate to local needs and aspirations.

The aim of the process is to deliver better quality environments for communities and to raise standards in architecture, placemaking and sustainable construction.

Planning proposals for Callander, Johnstone and Girvan will form part of the next round of charrettes, building on the success of pilot events held last year.  Brian Evans, Partner, Gillespies said:

"As pioneers of community planning and charrette processes over two decades we are delighted to have been selected onto the framework and  look forward to competing with the other three teams on the framework for the opportunity to work with local communities, councils and agencies to deliver charrette processes in Scotland."

The team including Gillespies has a long track record of delivering Charrette processes throughout the UK and internationally and includes JTP, Colin Buchanan, Eble Architektur, Wardell Armstrong and CADISPA.
