Royal Arsenal Heritage granted planning

Planning permission has been granted by the Royal Borough of Greenwich for the restoration and refurbishment of two Grade II listed buildings on the historic Royal Arsenal site, alongside a significant new public realm including a new public square. Once complete, the Officers’ House and the Royal Carriage Factory will offer a mix of commercial spaces and 146 new homes. The proposals also include the new Royal Carriage Square, a public square that will link the Officers’ House and Royal Carriage Factory to Woolwich Crossrail station, which opens in late 2018.

A network of improved pedestrian-friendly routes and external spaces by Gillespies will work to unite the buildings and seamlessly tie the site into the wider Royal Arsenal development.
