Royal Albert Docks: Gillespies' design contributes to the successful hybrid planning application for redevelopment

Gillespies' public realm and landscape design has contributed to the successful planning application for the re-development of the Royal Albert Docks in the London Borough of Newham by ABP.

ABP's aim is to transform this derelict site it into a leading international business hub. The development of the masterplan consists of a commercially-led mixed-use scheme by Farrells on behalf of ABP and their UK development partner Stanhope.

The proposed site occupies the existing historic dockland fronting the basin and references much of its former use in defining a singular character for the scheme.

Newham Council has just approved the hybrid planning application which is for part outline and part detailed planning permission.
