Plans approved for The Watergardens at Lifestyle Outlet Manchester

Salford City Council has unanimously granted planning approval for the Watergardens, an elegant waterside dining and leisure destination at Lifestyle Outlet Manchester. The scheme forms part of the £26m redevelopment of the Lowry Outlet at Salford Quays to boost the retail and leisure offer.

The Watergardens, designed by Chapman Taylor for client Peel, will provide a variety of new waterside restaurants set within an attractive public realm and landscape setting by Gillespies. The public realm will consist of an improved waterfront promenade with high-quality paving and trees and an elevated walkway that will connect the Outlet Mall to the Millennium Bridge across Manchester Ship Canal and the Lowry Theatre.

Jason Pullen, Managing Director of Lifestyle Outlets said, “The redevelopment will transform the southern waterside of the Lowry Outlet, allowing people to relax and dine with some of the finest waterfront views”.

“When the work is complete, the Lowry Outlet will be a unique shopping and leisure destination that will draw people from across the region to Salford Quays and MediaCityUK”

The project is a continuation of Chapman Taylor and Gillespies ongoing work to transform MediaCityUK into a new waterfront community, offering the perfect balance of business, leisure and living.
