Plans approved for the regeneration of West King Street and Hammersmith Town Hall

Hammersmith & Fulham Council unanimously approved plans on Tuesday evening (12 February) for the extension and full refurbishment of the Grade II-listed Hammersmith Town Hall and renewal of West King Street. The project is a joint venture between Hammersmith & Fulham Council and developer A2Dominion.

The scheme, designed by architects Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners (RSHP) will provide new shops, restaurants and cafes, a community cinema, commercial space and 204 residential homes of which 51 per cent will be classified as affordable housing. Gillespies are delivering a new civic square and an extensive public realm that will enhance the setting of the town hall and provide high-quality streetscapes, play areas and hard and soft landscaping throughout the site. Gillespies are also delivering new residential gardens, a new courtyard and roof terrace for the town hall.
