Pineapple award for Brent Cross Town
Brent Cross Town has won the Developer Festival of Place Pineapple award for Place in Progress.
Gillespies led the creation of a comprehensive landscape framework for the 180-acre Brent Cross Town development. We were also involved in creating the public realm design guide, and large sections of the streetscape, as well as a new square at the heart of its new residential neighbourhood.
The judges were impressed with the project's progress. They noted the social infrastructure and local amenities delivered in 2022, including high-quality green space Claremont Park, and employment and skills in new shops and restaurants. The judges felt the park spaces and café were busy and well-used on their visit.
Brent Cross Town is the neighbourhood at the heart of the Brent Cross Cricklewood regeneration programme by BXS Partnership. It is a joint venture between Related Argent and Barnet Council to develop a large-scale mixed-use development including new homes, retail and office space, as well as improved schools and greenspaces in the area. Work started on site in early 2020.
