New Scotland Yard wins Prime Minister's Better Public Building Award 2017

New Scotland Yard was named the winner of the 2017 Prime Minister’s Better Public Building Award at last night's British Construction Industry Awards. The award recognises excellence in publicly funded buildings and infrastructure.

Won in competition by architects AHMM, the new £60m headquarters has successfully remodelled and extended the neo-classical Curtis Green Building into a contemporary setting for the Metropolitan Police.

Gillespies – who were part of the original competition team - have delivered a distinctive, striped public realm that has opened up the existing enclosed space, creating a bold and welcoming public face for the Metropolitan Police.
