Housing Design Award for South Gardens

South Gardens, the first phase of Lendlease’s Elephant Park Masterplan, has been awarded a 2018 Housing Design Award. The scheme, which was designed by Maccreanor Lavington, delivers the first 360 new homes as part of the overall masterplan, which is set to deliver 2,500 new homes, shops and restaurants across three plots.

Gillespies’ design for the public realm at South Gardens has established a series of tree-lined streets, easy-to-navigate cycling routes and open spaces that form a green network of improved connections and spaces that are accessible to all, safe, playful and promote community cohesion. The practice is also the public masterplanner for the entire Elephant Park site, as well as the landscape designer for its additional phases and brand new park.
