Green light given for the second phase of Cambridge Biomedical Campus

Cambridge City Council has approved plans for latest phase of the expansion of Cambridge Biomedical Campus, adding a further 23 acres to the edge-of-town site.

Gillespies' landscape-led design provides a myriad of shared green spaces that encourage collaboration and connectivity, creating a dynamic shared community for academics, businesses and healthcare professionals.

The new campus consists of a series of green 'quads' that are connected by a vibrant promenade - running east-west through the site - that encourages movement, chance encounters and promotes collaboration between professionals. The promenade is further animated by shrub planting, seating and flexible areas for pop ups, cafes and events. The quads comprise of large areas of lawn, informal pocket gardens, wildflower planting, orchard gardens and enclosed areas for relaxation.
