Gillespies down to the final five for Burgess Park

Gillespies has been shortlisted down to the final five practices being considered for the £6 million redesign of London’s 46 hectare Burgess Park.

Burgess Park serves a deprived area, between Elephant and Castle and Camberwell. Although large, the park is lacking in character and has been in need of a major injection of capital funds for many years. It has now attracted £2 million from the Mayor of London and also received match funding of a further £4 million from Southwark Council and the New Deal for Communities.

Gillespies is now refining its designs for the next round of submissions.
