Double 'Gold' Award success at the Russian National Landscape Architecture Awards
Two of Gillespies’ projects in Russia have been awarded ‘Gold’ for best landscape design, at the 10th annual Russian National Landscape Architecture Awards, the largest national event in the field of landscape architecture in Russia.
The recently completed Polyanka 44, a luxury residential development in central Moscow by leading Russian developer PSN Group, scooped ‘Best realized project of complex residential landscape design’. A generous private courtyard offers residents a tranquil oasis and welcome respite from the busy city centre. The garden is inspired by the natural environment and incorporates hills, streams, trees, and a variety of planting, as well as a playground made of natural materials, inviting residents to enjoy the environment all year round, with opportunities for play, socialising, relaxation and escape. A distinctive characteristic of the courtyard is the water feature, a unique and delightful feature that truly sets this garden apart in the Moscow landscape.
One Trinity Place, a high-end residential complex in St Petersburg for PSN Group, received the award for ‘Best non-realized project of complex residential landscape design’. The landscape design by Gillespies includes a large garden in the courtyard with perennial trees, shrubs and flowers, as well as a unique water feature that resembles a forest lake.
Margarita Serova, General Director of Gillespies Moscow office, said;
“We are delighted to receive this recognition from the jury. The landscaping of residential developments and urban spaces are gradually becoming an integral part of high-quality projects in Russia. Developers understand that potential future residents are looking at more than just the building, with an ever-increasing level of expectation for the quality of design, character and functionality of external spaces. Therefore, the role of landscape design cannot be underestimated. We are delighted to have helped PSN Group deliver two exceptional projects and are certain that the long-term international experience of Gillespies will contribute to the creation of a high-quality living environment in Russia.”
