11 Belgrave success at 2024 Building Awards

On 5th November, 11 Belgrave was awarded Retrofit Project of the Year at the annual Building Awards, also earning finalist spots in the Net Zero and Construction Client of the Year categories.

This major transformation of a tired 1950s office into a highly sustainable workspace for Quadrum Global, designed by Eric Parry, features 145,000 sq ft of Grade A office space and 13,000 sq ft of landscaped amenity areas by Gillespies. These green spaces include a private ground-floor garden, biodiverse amenity terraces, and a large-scale rooftop platform offering panoramic views of London.

The planting strategy provides year-round greenery, while Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and green roofs enhance biodiversity, regulate temperatures, and support wildlife. Designed to improve occupant health and wellbeing, 11 Belgrave is the UK’s first building to achieve a Nabers 5.5-star rating, and is also certified WELL Platinum and BREEAM 'Outstanding'—making it one of London’s most sustainable office buildings.

The success of the project is a testament to an exceptional team effort: Eric Parry Architects, Max Fordham LLP, Ekkist, Bankfoot APAM, BAM UK & Ireland, Abakus Consulting, and Heyne Tillett Steel.
