Tom Walker

Tom Walker is a Partner at Gillespies, heading up the Leeds studio. He has over 35 years’ experience working as a Chartered Landscape Architect and Urban Designer.

Tom has worked across the professional landscape and urban design spectrum, from urban visioning and strategic framework production to masterplanning and the preparation of planning guidance and policy. His proficiency extends to detailed design, overseeing significant landscape and public realm projects, and serving as an expert witness for planning inquiries.

Tom has contributed to the planning and design of various projects, including office campuses, visitor destinations, zoos, residential communities, leisure facilities, and public transport infrastructure. He has managed projects across the UK, the Middle East, Ireland, and China.

Tom has served as a Design Council/CABE Space Enabler and currently sits on the Design Yorkshire Design Review Advisory Panel. He maintains a longstanding commitment to Leeds Beckett University's Urban Design and Landscape courses, providing recruitment assistance, critique support, and delivering visiting lectures. Tom takes pride in his role as a Landscape Institute Ambassador.
