Melinda Bates

Melinda Bates joined Gillespies in 2021 as HR Advisor and was promoted to Head of People and Culture in 2022. She has a background in architectural and interior recruitment, which has offered her a strong understanding of the industry.

Melinda is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and holds two Masters degrees, one in Psychology and the other in Occupational and Organisational Psychology. She received a distinction for her second Masters degree.

At Gillespies, Melinda is responsible for managing Human Resources for all four UK offices. Her key responsibilities include supporting the teams with employee relations, staff welfare, development of HR policies, wellbeing, and learning and development. Melinda is passionate about staff culture, equality, and diversity and is leading the firm’s in-house people and culture group. Her focus is on creating a positive and inclusive work environment for all employees.
