Katie Hammond


Katie Hammond is an experienced Principal Landscape Architect with proven expertise in the delivery of public realm strategies, comprehensive Design Codes and landscape-led masterplans and public realm projects across the UK.

Since joining Gillespies in 2007, Katie has established a strong portfolio of high profile urban design and public realm strategies and she has authored a number of guidance documents for the Northwest’s premier towns and cities including Lancaster, Carlisle, Whitehaven, Northwich, Caernarfon and Bradford. She is particularly focused on town and city planning, design and implementation with an emphasis on challenging transport and movement issues and delivering a sense of place.

Recent work includes the preparation of a comprehensive Design Code and landscape-led masterplan for the University of Huddersfield’s urban realm and the development of landscape proposals and design guidance for the successful outline planning approval of Trafford Waters, a £1bn high-density development on the edge of Manchester’s Ship Canal.
