John is a chartered landscape architect with an expertise in the design and delivery of residential schemes across the UK. His experience ranges from large scale urban extensions to smaller scale, complex roof gardens and podium environments. John joined Gillespies in 2022 as a Principal Landscape Architect.
A background studying and working within the horticultural sector has provided John with a strong understanding of planting and how it can be applied across a variety of scales and layers to create a rich and layered response to the opportunities and constraints of a site.
Prior to joining Gillespies, John worked for Fabrik where he gained extensive experience working at a variety of scales and work stages. Within his projects, he has been instrumental in developing fully cloud-based models in REVIT that present a coordinated and collaborative approach to the site. Career highlights include the delivery of a landscape vision and key green infrastructure elements for a new Eco-town on former MoD land in Bordon, Hampshire, and the phased redevelopment of a former gasworks site in Clarendon into a mixed-use development with extensive green roofs and enhanced landscaping.
