Irem Adal

Irem is an experienced and versatile landscape architect with a passion for the built environment. She is interested in how the careful integration of nature into our cities can create a more liveable, enjoyable and sustainable world.

Originally from Turkey, Irem worked on a wide range of highly complex projects in Istanbul, notably airport projects, mixed-use developments and nature reserve parks, before joining Gillespies in 2017. Since joining the practice, she has collaborated on projects ranging from large-scale urban realms for major infrastructure projects to smaller-scale, more detailed public spaces and gardens for residential developments.

With experience working in Russia, Turkey and the UK, Irem’s work covers all key design stages, from conceptual design through to construction, giving her a comprehensive understanding of the lifecycle of a project. Notable projects include the design of multiple public spaces as part of the Thames Tideway Project in London, and Discovery Park, a mixed-use scheme in Moscow for client MR Group, which is due for completion in August 2021.
