The Capital Streets Project, Edinburgh

Edinburgh is one of the most beautiful city's in Northern Europe, with notable architecture and the stunning backdrop of Edinburgh Castle.

Some of the higher profile public spaces needed to be changed to ensure Edinburgh remained a commercially vibrant centre, something which is key to being competitive internationally. As any changes to Edinburgh's historic centre need to be very carefully considered, Gillespies was selected as designer. 

Edinburgh's Georgian New Town is part of a World Heritage Site and any public realm works need to be carried out with the utmost care and consideration. Gillespies has been commissioned to prepare design proposals for three key areas including Castle Street, St Andrew's Square and George Street.
