In the DIFC, the client has set out to create an international financial centre to match those of London, New York and Hong Kong.
It will be a financial and business services district, larger in scale than Canary Wharf, built to fill a gap not covered by the financial centres of Europe, the Far East and North America. As landscape architect Gillespies will establish the vision for the public realm and prepare landscape design codes. Gillespies role is to create a contemporary landscape concept in an urban setting in consultation with a multi-disciplinary team. The vision also envisages the creation of a new destination in Dubai for entertainment, shopping and cultural activities.
